May Recs | It's been a minute + a book update
God, I don’t know how, but I know You.
It’s been a minute.
My excuse is this: two book proposals at once. Reader, I hope you understand. The other two reasons are 4 and almost 2 (cries in where did my baby go?) Anyways, these things have kept me busy.
We are also in full summer mode though it’s still only spring. The blow up pool is sitting in the backyard where the boys giggle and splash almost every day. My garden is established and one of my favorite places to be. Ranunculus are bursting forth with more to cut and bring inside each morning. And in the evenings, we watch from the windows as those fluffy marshmallow clouds turn to thunder heads and roll in as a summer storm.
And I exhale. God is watering his earth just as he provides living water for me. There’s a lot of exhaling happening over here. Lots of trusting God through weariness, chronic pain, and even excitement. Many, many moments of, God, I don’t know how, but I know You.

These words though:
“By its banishment from God’s presence, the body is diminished and doomed to die. Much of its beauty and splendor is lost. The body that was once fully alive becomes a “body of death” (Rom 7:24), a “mortal body” (Rom 8:11). The body that was once righteous becomes a “body of sin” (Rom. 6:6), “sinful flesh” (Rom 8:3). The body that was highly honored is now brought low (Phil 3:21). Yet, though beset by death, some of its former glory still appears, for a short while, when people are healthy and young. But it does not last and cannot last. It is like the beauty of wildflowers that blossom for a day before they fade ever so quickly away (Ps 103:15–16; Isa 40:6-7).” — John W. Kleinig, Wonderfully Made
Q: When does your book on miscarriage come out?
I recently found out my first book Lost Gifts: Miscarriage, Grief, and the God of All Comfort is set to come out Summer 2025. I will definitely share when I have an official date!
