Seven years ago, God began the work of what would become a book idea in my heart. I knew it wasn’t time then, that I needed to heal before I could write it, and quite honestly, I wasn’t even sure what the idea fully was. But there was something there—something he planted. And it was growing.
Last year I began crafting a book proposal and truly wasn’t sure if it would go anywhere. Turns out, there are others who see the need for the work I’m hoping to contribute to. I say contribute, because I know one book isn’t going to change the way we talk and think about suffering in the church, but maybe it can be a step in the right direction. Maybe God will do a work in the hearts of other women like he has in mine. Maybe he will show them they are free to run to him, free to wrestle with him, free to weep at his feet.
Today I joyfully signed a book contract with Moody Publishing and I’m still shocked and humbled by this opportunity. Free to Weep (working title) is tentatively set to release in April of 2026. It will be a hard book to write and will require so much wisdom and gentleness. If you are a close friend or family member, I covet your prayers.
All this to say… EEP! I’m writing another book!!!
